Seven feet of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The figure keeps every element of the tilma: the sun's rays, the mantle of stars over the rose gown, the black maternity band at Mary's waist, the crescent moon and the angel who bears her. She is the image under which the Americas were evangelized, and her December 12 feast fills her basilica in Mexico City.
An 86-inch statue is meant for a church plaza, a facade niche, a cemetery or a diocesan shrine. Parishes with large Guadalupan communities choose this size for the outdoor shrine where the December vigil is kept.
